SCOIL IOSAGAIN - A HIVE OF ACTIVITY

From 8am until late in the evening Scoil Iosagain is at work and play. Before school commences at 9am the Edmund Rice Hall is open for big boys to play a variety of sports. The other boys start their soccer and handball matches in the playground. Some go to the library for a chat.
During school time every class gets a special class in our computer room once a week. Each class will have some form of coaching in sport. At lunchtime organised leagues and competitions are organised. Some boys also play the guitar in their lunchbreak. About 25 boys go to the Media lab and computer room to play games on the internet.
After school we have the homework club, our Polish homework club and on somedays we have drama or tag rugby or hurling.
On many days we also have parents doing courses in our computer room and our Edmund Rice Room. Some evenings we also have parents and others from the community doing courses.

CBS takes every opportunity to enter competitive sport and develop our pupils' sporting talents. We enter Cumann na mBunscol competitions in hurling and football, we enter the city basketball competition and also the soccer competition.

OUR CHRISTIAN FAITH

Our school is a Catholic school but we also have many other faiths amongst our pupils and parents. As part of our faith growing we have the Sacraments of Eucharist (First Communion) in 2nd class and Confirmation in 6th class.
Many classes go to the local church for Mass on special days but also now and again just to pray with the people who attend Mass on a normal day.
